Concurrent Delay - Myth or Reality, Ritz - November 2011
On Tuesday the 19th of November, Jamie McNeill presented the first Quantum International-Qatar presentation to a group of selected guests.
His presentation which he entitled Concurrent Delay - Myth or Reality was a terrific success for Quantums newest serving employee. The event was held at the Admirals Club at the Ritz Carlton and judging from the applause from his guests, it was nothing other than a terrific success.
We hope to hold more such seminars in the future and will cover an exciting range of equally controversial topics.

As part of Quantums continuing initiative to support sport for the young, Quantums 20 guests were treated to a superb evening of action, culminating in our two sponsored fighters, Ollie Beard and Tommy King both achieving devasting knock-outs in under 30 seconds against bigger and more experienced fighters.
This was Ollies first ever fight and having trained solidly at the Muscle Inc. gym which is co-owned by Quantum International, Ollie overwhelmed his opponent and put on a terrific show in front of his legion of supporters.
It is hoped that this will be the first of a number of sponsored events such as this.

Alex Bolt Foundation, Wentworth Golf Club - November 2011
The Directors of Quantum International were extremely honoured and privileged to support the Alex Bolt Foundation at the recent charity ball held at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club in November.
Alex passed away in May of this year at the tender age of 15 from a brain tumour and his parents Jeanette and Peter decided to set up the Foundation as a means of increasing awareness of the illness.
Surprisingly, the disease is the number one killer of teenagers and their efforts to make their inaugural Charity Ball were truly outstanding.
Darren Gough, Freddie Flintoff, Teddy Sheringham, Anton du Beke and many others helped support the evening which was attended by over 350 guests.
The evening was absolutely superb and despite the solemness of the occasion, Alex would definitely have approved of his parents efforts to make the evening such an amazing success with over £75,000 raised for the charity.
Quantum International bid for and won several prizes contributing over £2,500 to the cause.
For anyone interested in the great work that the Foundation does, please do go the umbrella charity, The Samantha Dickson Foundation whose website can be found at braintumourtrust.co.uk.

Four Seasons Wine Tasting Soiree - 22nd September 2011
‘Wine to me is passion. It’s family and friends. It’s warmth of heart and generosity of spirit’ - Robert Mondavi
Quantum Qatar held the first ever wine tasting at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha on Thursday 22nd September 2011 and invited key Clients to enjoy a voyage of discovery through a number of unknown wines. There are only two certified sommeliers in Doha, our sommelier for the evening was Peter Gillis who has extensive experience in this field... to the extent that he can actually blind taste 30 wines and recognise each type.
The guests at the event enjoyed an epicurean evening with a cheese mountain from around the world and a variety of sparkling, red and white wines in the Library and Cigar Lounge which proved the perfect setting for a gastronomic extravaganza.
The guests learnt about correct temperatures, smelling and tasting techniques and that you really should be more hands on with your wines and really enjoy the flavours.
22 Guests arrived and 22 connoisseurs left, eager to share their new found knowledge and keenly awaiting the next event and further edification in the art of wine.
‘A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine’ - Robert Mondavi

Lusail shooting Day - September 2011
Quantum Qatar recently hosted a shooting event at the Lusail Olympic Shooting range for all the staff and partners working in Qatar.
The shooting range, 18 km to the North of Doha was completed in 2006 and it became one of the largest shooting range in the region. It is a state-of-the-art range and contains shotgun ranges, outdoor and indoor rifle and pistol ranges up to 300m and hosted the shooting events during the Asian Games in 2006. The whole complex has a unique Islamic design harmonised with Qatar architecture and was a perfect venue for the QQ family’s first shooting event.
All attendees were dressed for the occasion in company livery and a keen competition took place to see who was the Quantum Qatar Hotshot.
A hostess was on hand to provide full support plus photographer to capture every moment and it was noted that the company livery looked much better on these ladies than the staff who also attended.
Following intense competition the 3 ‘Hotshots’ of the day were Peter Murphy, John Back and Tom Kapapa and prize for ‘who needs the most practice’ or ‘glasses’ went to Robin Jackman who was lucky not to lose hit foot on 2 occasions and left gaping holes in the walkway.
Overall a great day was had by all and a rematch is to be arranged soon.

The London 48-Hour Film Project 2011
The 48-Hour Film Project comes to London on the weekend of September 23rd. Filmmakers from all over the London area are competing to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours.
The 48-Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which teams make a movie - write, shoot, edit and score it - all in just 48 hours !
Quantum International’s film production company, Tripe Aspect was selected as one of only 40 production companies in the UK to participate and Creative Director, Rob Valenta has set up a team.
Rob is not revealing why he has chosen that name - perhaps a nod to those less techy staff members who often forget such things !
The winning film will go up against winning films from around the world.
At the kickoff, each team draws the genre for its film out of a hat.
In addition, a character, prop and line of dialogue will be announced and must appear in each film.
On Friday night, each team receives a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in the movie.
Just 48 hours later, the movie must be complete - then it will show at a local theatre, usually in the next week.
In 2010, nearly 40,000 filmmakers made 3,000 films in 80 cities on five Continents.
2011 will be even bigger with filmmakers from around the world taking up the challenge to make a film in just 48 hours.
The smallest team to-date has consisted of one person who sets up the camera then runs around to be on-camera.
The largest was a team from Albuquerque with 116 people and 30 horses!
With 12,500 teams in the Project over the years, and at 15 people per team, that translates to roughly 200,000 people who have answered the call to come on out and make a movie.
We’ll be reporting back on Robs progress as the days roll down !

Harry Potter Premiere - 27th July 2011
Harry Potters saga is finally ending, but his magic spell remains and Quantum Internationals 10 guests were there to witness the alchemy at the London Premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two.
Outside, thousands of fans from around the world massed in London Thursday for the premiere of the final film in the magical adventure series.
They thronged Trafalgar Square, where our own guests mingled and walked with the films stars down a rather rain-sodden red carpet, in Leicester Square, where the movie was being shown in a plush movie theater, braving the inevitable London rain with umbrellas, waterproofs and good cheer.
The sun broke out as cast members - including leads Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - and Harrys creator J.K. Rowling began arriving on the red carpet, signing autographs and chatting with fans.
Quantums guests were treated to a delightful evening at which they were the first to see the final film in the record-breaking series.
They mingled and met the film’s stars as well as a host of other Hollywood legends.
Afterwards, having been bussed to a secret location, they enjoyed dining the night away, chatting to the many celebrities that were also there and they ended the wonderful night by dancing away to a special performance by music legend, Jay Kay and his band Jamiroquai.

Cartier International Polo 2011 - 25th July 2011
After weeks of gloomy weather, the sunshine over the Guards Polo Club elevated spirits to a suitably high level as Quantum Internationals guests soaked up the sunshine in the Chinawhite tent at the Cartier International Cup yesterday.
After a Veuve Clicquot Champagne reception, lunch started with a Thai seafood consommé with tiger prawns, snapper, scallops and lobster wontons, followed by an Asian BBQ of beef and guinea fowl and finished with a Champagne jelly with pandan leaf brûlée and lime sorbet.
Everyone decamped then, with Pimms in hand to the stands to watch the English team triumph over Brazil in the Coronation Cup.
At the Cartier marquee for afternoon tea, guests stood as the sun set in shades of lemon and cornflower and ate macaroons, mini lemon tarts, and the tiniest of carrot cakes.
The party got going back at Chinawhite with Axwell of Swedish House Mafia on the decks, stepping in for Mark Ronson, who pulled out following the death of his friend Amy Winehouse on Saturday.
He played tracks including Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce and Last Friday Night by Katy Perry for the revellers until long after dark.

Wimbledon Mens Singles Final - 8th July 2011
Quantum International hosted a party of 10 guests for the 2011 Mens Wimbledon Final.
After a superb champagne breakfast, Guests were taken on an exclusive tour of Wimbledon backstage, where they viewed the facilities never normally seen by the public. Guests were privileged to meet and chat with both Rafael Nadal and Noval Djokovic, the stars of the weekends Final
After the obligatory autograph signing, guests returned to the beautiful Gatsby Club for a superb five-course lunch which was followed by after-dinner speeches by Bjorn Borg and other well-known tennis dignitaries.
Then, under the wonderful setting of Wimbledons newly completed Centre Court, our guests watched Novak Djokovic defeat Rafael Nadal in four sets 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 after a superb performance.
Djokovic was a man on a mission - both players went head to head in the first set, until the 10th game, when Djokovic broke the Spaniards serve at 5-4.
In the second set, Nadals inability to bounce back gave Djokovic the chance to break him for a 2-0 lead, then again at 5-1 and take the lead to two sets to love.
Third set was a different story. It appeared that Nadal was back in the game. He needed only 30 minutes to show his class, winning a double break and the set.
In the fourth set, Nadal managed to break back in the third game, but Djokovic was just relentless and broke the Spaniards serve once again in game eight before securing his triumph at his first match point.
It\\\'s been a historic run for Djokovic and winning the highest profile Grand Slam tournament means the world to him.
He will be the new world number one as of tomorrow. Increasingly confident in the power of his game with now two Grand Slam titles won in one year, if he keeps this form, he might win the US Open, too.
After the exhilarating final, guests returned to the Gatsby Club and enjoyed the remainder of the day enjoying afternoon tea before heading home.

Pre-Wimbledon Party - 17th June 2011
TWO rows of parked Range Rovers created an urban promenade for Quantum Internationals guests arriving at last nights pre-Wimbledon party at the Kensington Roof Gardens.
Tali Lennox, Holly Valance, Eliza Doolittle, Shingai Shoniwa and Maria Sharapova were among the stars of fashion, music, entertainment and sport who celebrated the famous tennis tournament along with Quantums guests, which starts on Monday.
Upstairs, we walked past glossy, high-energy photographs of female tennis players wearing specially-designed outfits by some of Britains best designers.
Guests wandered around the gardens with glasses of Perrier Jouët Champagne and Absolut vodka espresso martinis before heading for the BBQ which, despite the rain and a seemingly interminable queue, proved to be very popular.

The days entertainment was followed by an evening performance by American artist, Kanye West. Saturdays Qualifying sessions saw Sebastian Vettel set a new track record and again take pole position in front of over 25,000 avid F1 fans.
The evening was highlighted by a stunning performance by rock band, Linkin Park and the entertainment ended with everyone getting to bed in the very wee hours of the morning.
After a rather late rousing, guests shuffled over to their trackside seats for the final race of 2010.
They watched as Sebastian Vettel was crowned the 2010 FIA Formula 1 World Champion after winning a superb race at the amazing circuit.
He led from the start and drove a flawless race on the Yas Marina Circuit.
He has now become F1s youngest ever overall winner after his two main rivals Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber finished only seventh and eighth.
Lewis Hamilton had also driven a very strong race and finished just behind Vettel on a minimum margin.
His teammate Jenson Button completed the podium at the Yas Marina Circuit.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marked the end of a superb and highly unpredictable season and the final night’s entertainment at the Ferrari World Arena was provided by none other than the legendary Prince.
The arena, packed with over 50,000 fans, saw a remarkable concert by the veteran artist this was a concert not to be missed.
The concert lived up to the hype with the rock star providing arguably one of his most memorable performances in recent years.
The weekend was in the words of one Quantum Qatar guest, one of the best he’d ever had…or at least that he could remember!
